Unilever and Perdigao form strategic alliance

SAO PAULO, BRAZIL — Unilever and Perdigao S.A. have partnered in a joint venture to manage the Becel and Becel ProActiv brands in Brazil and to identify other business opportunities.
The alliance will provide the Brazilian market with products aimed primarily at consumers desiring healthy and functional nutrition.
The venture will combine Perdigao’s experience in manufacturing, sales and distribution of food products in Brazil and Unilever’s technology, marketing, innovation and brand expertise in Brazil and throughout the world.
The alliance includes Unilever’s sale to Perdigao of the Doriana, Delicata and Claybon brands.
