LONDON — Extensive flooding in parts of northern England have forced Cadbury Schweppes P.L.C. to temporarily suspend production at its mint and wine gum factory in Sheffield, England.
Cadbury said employees on site are currently leading an extensive clean-up operation, but the company believes it still will be several weeks before the factory is fully operational.
"We have been working closely with customers to understand and minimize the impact and are exploring the use of alternative sources of production," Cadbury said. "We have insurance in place and will provide an update at our interim results on Aug. 1."
