McCormick announces planned retirement of c.f.o.

SPARKS, MD. — Francis A. Contino, executive vice-president and chief financial officer for McCormick & Co. Inc., will retire effective July 1, 2008.

Mr. Contino joined McCormick in June 1998 as executive vice-president, c.f.o. and a member of the corporate board of directors. Previously, he was managing partner of the Baltimore office of Ernst & Young.

"Fran’s vision regarding the implementation of SAP and his financial leadership have been instrumental in moving the company forward," said Robert J. Lawless, chairman and chief executive officer. "He leaves a strong financial team and a foundation for continued success. We are grateful for his leadership and wish him well in his upcoming retirement."

Gordon M. Stetz, currently vice-president of finance for the company’s European business, will take over as vice-president and chief financial officer effective Nov. 1. Mr. Contino will keep his duties as executive vice-president of strategic planning until his retirement.

Mr. Stetz joined McCormick in 1987.
