Planter's Peanuts enters edible oil licensing agreement

NORTHFIELD, ILL. — Planter’s Peanuts, a brand owned by Kraft Foods Inc., has entered into a licensing agreement with Fenwick Oil L.L.C., Birmingham, Ala., to introduce a new line of Planter’s Peanut Oil. The oil will be available at retailers nationwide and be packaged in 64-oz, 1-gallon, 3-gallon and 4.5-gallon sizes.
Fenwick Oil focuses on the edible oil category and is owned by the Fenwick Capital Group, a private equity investor. The company’s investment portfolio also includes a number of food companies, including: C&M Foods, Big Sky Bread Company, Shearer’s Foods, Poppee’s Popcorn Company, Inc., and Poseidon Enterprises, Inc.
In conjunction with the announcement about its agreement with Kraft Foods, Fenwick Capital Group also announced it had named Tom Dekle president of Fenwick Oil L.L.C.
IMC Licensing, Louisville, Ky., negotiated the deal between Kraft Foods and Fenwick Oil.
