ST. LOUIS — Bunge North America said it is a month ahead of schedule in its plans to resume canola operations at its oilseed processing plant in Hamilton, Ont. The company, which made modifications to the facility that will allow the plant to crush 240,000 tonnes of canola per year, now plans to be operational by November. The plant will continue to process soybeans.

As part of the project, Bunge installed odor abatement equipment that will reduce odor emissions.

Bunge is Canada’s largest canola processor and has crushing facilities in Altona and Harrowby, Man.; Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.; and Nipawin, Sask., in addition to the processing plant in Hamilton.
