BATTLE CREEK, MICH. — The Kellogg Co. has promoted Joel R. Wittenberg to corporate vice-president of treasury and investor relations.

Mr. Wittenberg will be responsible for leading Kellogg’s investor relations team as the company’s primary contact with institutional investors, investment analysts and brokers. He also will continue his previous responsibilities overseeing treasury.

"Joel brings a strong financial background to this position," said John Bryant, chief financial officer. "His experience makes him an excellent choice to share Kellogg’s growth story and sustainable business model with investors."

Simon Burton previously headed up the investor relations group and will be transitioning into a strategic finance role for the snacks business unit.

Mr. Wittenberg joined the company in September 2000 as assistant treasurer and was named vice-president and treasurer in October 2001.
