Kinsey to succeed Woodward as c.f.o. at Flowers

THOMASVILLE, GA. — R. Steve Kinsey has been named senior vice-president and chief financial officer for Flowers Foods, Inc.

Mr. Kinsey was previously vice-president and corporate controller and takes over the c.f.o. from Jimmy M. Woodward. Mr. Woodward is retiring for family reasons, effective Sept. 15. Mr. Woodward has been c.f.o. since 2000 and has been a member of the management team since 1985.

Mr. Kinsey joined Flowers in 1989 as a tax associate. He worked his way up through various positions and was promoted to vice-president and corporate controller in 2003.

"The strength of our management succession is evident in Steve Kinsey’s appointment," said George E. Deese, chairman of the board, chief executive officer and president. "Steve has been with the company for 18 years and is well prepared to step into the position of chief financial officer. He has guided our financial accounting and has served as an integral player in our strategic planning process."
