Wendy's introduces Frosty mix-ins

DUBLIN, OHIO — Wendy’s International Inc. has introduced the choice of either M&M or Oreo mix-ins with the Frosty — a new offering called the Twisted Frosty.

"(The Frosty) is one of the best known and most enduring items on our menu," said Ian Rowden, chief marketing officer. "This is another example of how we’re actively leveraging the untapped power of the Frosty brand by giving consumers an array of new and exciting choices."

The Frosty was one of five items on the menu when Wendy’s was founded in 1969, and chocolate was the only flavor offered until July 2006. At that time, a blend of vanilla was introduced, and Frosty floats were rolled out earlier this year. Every year, Wendy’s sells more than 600 million Frostys. The vanilla flavor now represents about 40% of Frosty sales.
