MINNEAPOLIS — Yoplait has introduced Yo-Plus, a yogurt with probiotic cultures and fiber with the goal of helping promote digestive health.
The new yogurt contains Optibalance, which is a blend of probiotic cultures and a natural fiber. The company said a combination of these cultures and fiber may help consumers regulate their digestive systems when eaten daily.
"We are excited to introduce to the market a delicious way to help health-conscious consumers obtain digestive benefits," said Katie Lay, associate marketing manager for Yo-Plus. "Yo-Plus is the only yogurt on the market with Optibalance, which helps put digestion back on track. Plus, the smooth texture and rich flavors do not sacrifice taste."
Yo-Plus has 3 grams of fiber with every 4-oz serving and also contains 15% of the recommended daily value for calcium and 10% of the daily recommendations for vitamins A and D. The yogurt also contains probiotic culture Bifidobacterium as well as the yogurt cultures L. bulgaricus and S. thermophilus.
Flavors include strawberry, vanilla, cherry and peach and will be available for the suggested retail price of $2.49 per 4-oz cup 4-pack.
