ATLANTA — Coca-Cola Enterprises has named Steve Cahillane president of its European Group, effective Oct. 1. He succeeds Shaun Higgins, who will leave the company at the end of the year.
Mr. Cahillane has spent his entire career in the beverage industry, most recently as chief commercial officer at InBev. From 2003 to 2005 he was chief executive officer of Interbrew U.K. and Ireland. Earlier, he was c.e.o. of Labatt USA. Mr. Cahillane founded the State Street Brewing Co. in Chicago in 1995, which he owned until 1997, when he sold the business and joined Coors Distribution Co. as vice-president and general manager.
Mr. Higgins will continue to lead the European Group in October while Mr. Cahillane meets with key internal and external shareholders.
