MINNEAPOLIS — Cargill, which earlier this year signed on as a premier sponsor of the American Dietetic Association (A.D.A.), announced it will host a media briefing on behalf of its CoroWise brand of plant sterols at the A.D.A. Food Nutrition Conference and Expo, scheduled for Sept. 30 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The panel, which will review the latest science on dietary cholesterol and the emerging role of plant sterols, will feature Dr. Rebecca Reeves, former A.D.A. president; Robert E. Kowalski, New York Times best-selling author of "The 8-Week Cholesterol Cure"; and Felicia Stoler, television host of the Learning Channel’s "Honey We’re Killing the Kids" program.
In addition to the scientific update, the panelists will describe real world examples of how Americans are using plant sterols. Cargill said it will debut a new product featuring CoroWise plant sterols that will arrive on store shelves in late fall.
As part of its two-year sponsorship of the A.D.A., Cargill’s funds will be used to produce information and educational tools that A.D.A. members may use in working with clients and patients who are interested in cholesterol-lowering options.
