CHICAGO – BakeMark USA, a part of CSM, completed consolidation of its Milwaukee, Wis., and Carol Stream, Ill., offices and warehouse facilities into a larger facility in the Milwaukee suburb of Menomonee Falls. The facility has over 78,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and office space.
The new operation also has 15,000 square feet of freezer storage capacity, reflecting the growing interest in "thaw and serve" frozen products by baking industry customers. A new test bakery is also a part of the center, featuring a commercial kitchen operation with a fryer, proofer and a commercial bakery-grade oven. The new test kitchen will be used for product development, training and demonstrations.
"Our objective was to improve our ability to respond quickly to our customers by bringing both operations under one roof and still have plenty of room to grow," said William (Bill) Day, chief executive officer. "In addition to giving us much more commercial freezer capacity to service our Midwest customers’ needs, this new operation gives us more space to offer a broader product offering."
BakeMark USA consolidated all the s.k.u.s (stock keeping units) previously warehoused separately in the older Milwaukee and Carol Stream buildings into the new facility.
