SHEBOYGAN, WIS. — Growing demand in the specialty malt brewing segment has prompted Minneapolis-based Cargill to reopen its malting facility in Sheboygan on Dec. 1. Cargill said the facility will focus on producing limited quantities of specialty malt products.
Cargill has owned the facility and 10-acre property — including a malting plant, grain elevators, two warehouses and an office building with office and laboratory space — since 1998. In August 2004, the company halted production at the facility and has since used the site as a distribution warehouse.
