THOMASVILLE, GA. — Flowers Foods, Inc. has promoted Karyl H. Lauder to vice-president and chief accounting officer and Vandy T. Davis to vice-president and corporate controller.
Both individuals joined the company in 1978 and have worked in accounting and financial reporting.
Specifically, Ms. Lauder worked as a controller at various Flowers bakeries as well as a controller for both the regional and operating group level. Since 2003, she has been vice-president and operations controller for the company.
"(Karyl) has demonstrated leadership ability and has contributed greatly to the success of the company," said R. Steve Kinsey, senior vice-president and chief financial officer. "Among her key accomplishments are the development of a centralized center to handle the company’s accounts payable and receivables, the creation of controllerships at Flowers subsidiaries, and her contributions to the successful implementation of our information system."
Mr. Davis joined Flowers as a staff accountant and has held various accounting positions, including director of financial reporting. He has been assistant corporate controller for the company since 2005.
"Vandy has substantial experience in administering accounting policy and considerable knowledge of financial reporting, making him a valuable asset to the company," Mr. Kinsey said. "Flowers has benefited from his many contributions over the years, especially as the company has implemented new accounting and reporting procedures."
