Wendy's has fifth quarter of positive same-store sales

DUBLIN, OHIO — For the third quarter ended Sept. 30, Wendy’s International, Inc. posted preliminary average same-store sales for U.S. company restaurants increasing 0.2% for the quarter, compared with 4.1% during the same period of 2006.
The year-to-date average for same-stores sales at U.S. company restaurants were up 1.5%.
"We are encouraged by another quarter of positive same-store sales growth — our fifth in a row — as we continue to successfully execute our strategic plan and the turnaround of the Wendy’s business," said Kerrii Anderson, chief executive officer and president.
Average same-stores sales at U.S. franchise restaurants increased 1.3% during the third quarter, compared with 3.9% during the same quarter of 2006. Year-to-date average same-stores sales at U.S. franchise restaurants were up 1.8%.
In the quarter, Wendy’s introduced the Baconator, a half-pound bacon hamburger. In addition, they company introduced limited-time offerings in local markets in August and promoted its Super Value Menu in September.
