PURCHASE, N.Y. — PepsiCo, Inc. has introduced Tava, a zero-calorie sparkling beverage in fruit flavors with added vitamins and antioxidants.
"The Tava brand stretches traditional soft drink boundaries," said Frank Cooper, vice-president of flavored carbonated soft drinks for Pepsi-Cola North America. "It offers a unique value proposition that combines beneficial ingredients with sophisticated flavor blends and helps with weight management… (Consumers) want to explore and discover new things but are also acutely aware of the amount of calories they consume. Tava allows them to have a calorie-free beverage experience that is rooted in the fun of bubbles."
Tava flavors include Mediterranean Fiesta, a black cherry citrus; Tahitian Tamure, a tropical berry blend; and Brazilian Samba with passion fruit, pineapple and lime. The beverage is enhanced with vitamins E and B6 along with Niacin and Chromium.
Tava is available this month nationwide for a suggested retail price of $1.49 for a 16.9-oz PET bottle and $2.99 for 12-oz can 4-packs.
