Evanoff named chief financial officer at FONA

GENEVA, ILL. — FONA International has promoted James Evanoff to chief financial officer and Andrea Weinecke to analytical supervisor. The company has made four new hires as well.

Mr. Evanoff has more than 14 years of experience in accounting and finance and has held titles such as financial controller, customer finance director and manager of financial planning and analysis. He is a certified public accountant and received a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Marquette University in Milwaukee.

Ms. Weinecke received a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and a bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

FONA International, a developer and manufacturer of flavors for the food and beverage industry, also has hired Melissa Battles as senior applications technologist for the grain business unit. She has more than six years of experience in the baking arena and received a bachelor’s of science degree in food science and human nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

William Churchwell, who has more than 15 years of experience, was hired as environmental, health and safety compliance officer. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from Western Illinois University, Macomb and Moline, and a master’s in business administration from Northern Illinois University.

Theresa Guess, who has more than 15 years of experience, was hired as quality assurance supervisor. She received a master’s of science degree in supply chain management from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., and a bachelor’s of science degree in biology from Illinois State University in Normal.

Angel Ray was named plant manager. He has more than eight years of experience as a plant director in food manufacturing. Mr. Ray received a bachelor’s of science degree and a master’s degree from City University of New York, Hunter College.
