SOLON, OHIO — Nestle Prepared Foods Co. announced it will invest more than $60 million to expand its frozen foods manufacturing facility in Jonesboro, Ark. The facility, which originally was opened in 2003 to produce Stouffer’s and Lean Cuisine frozen prepared meals, will be expanded by 50,000 square feet to include a production line and bakery that will allow pizza production for both brands, Nestle said.
Nestle has selected Nation Pizza Products of Schaumberg, Ill., to operate the new bakery, which will be connected to the existing Nestle facility.
"The company (Nation Pizza) has clearly demonstrated their expertise in this field and we’ve found the team there to be strong operationally," said Chuck Dries, director of operations for Nestle Prepared Foods Co. "We look forward to working with Nation Pizza Products to bring pizza production to Jonesboro, in 2009."
The Jonesboro facility currently employs 600, and is expected to add 200 more positions once the new bakery and production line are complete.
