The new Osteo-Life blend is a proprietary blend of Frutarom’s SoyLife, calcium carbonate and vitamin D. Frutarom was inspired to create Osteo-Life following a two-year Osteoporosis Prevention Using Soy (OPUS) study that demonstrated the effectiveness of soy germ isoflavones in promoting bone health. Another study has shown equol, a daidzein metabolite, is more biologically active than other isoflavones.

"The basic SoyLife formulation, a key component in the new Osteo-Life blend, has over 50% daidzin/daidzein content," said Laurent Leduc, vice-president of business development and marketing for Frutarom USA Inc., Flavor Division, North Bergen, N.J. "In developing the new Osteo-Life, we also considered OPUS findings that included the study of 400 patients who showed an increase in bone mass density over two years.

"We created a blend that reflects the exact dosages used by the group showing the highest results."
