CARPINTERIA, CALIF. — For the four weeks ended March 24, CKE Restaurants, Inc. blended same-store sales increased 2.4%. For the year-to-date, blended same-stores sales were up 1.9%.
"We are very pleased to report a 6.0% increase in same-store sales at Carl’s Jr. on top of a 1.2% increase in the prior year period," said Andrew F. Puzder, president and chief executive officer. "While Carl’s Jr. benefited from the reintroduction of its popular Chili Cheese Burgers and Chili Cheese Fries, Hardee’s continued to be hampered by very inclement weather in the Midwest and Southeast, making it difficult to tell what impact, positive or negative, pricing and the economy may be having on its sales."
Carl’s Jr. had a same-store sales increase of 6% while Hardee’s same-store sales decreased 2.1% for the four weeks. For the year-to-date, Carl’s Jr. had a same-store sale increase of 3.8% while Hardee’s decreased 0.2%.
