KANSAS CITY — Farmland Foods, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, Inc., has added two new sausage products to its line, the Farmland Twister Dogs and an All Natural Smoked Sausage.
The Twister Dogs are formulated and processed to uncoil while they expand during the cooking process. The product is fully-cooked and only takes a few minutes to heat and serve.
The package is designed to appeal to both adults and children, according to the company. Score marks on the hot dogs also allow them to hold condiments in place and make it easier for children to eat without making a mess.
Farmland also has introduced an All Natural Smoked Sausage. The sausage is fully-cooked and features natural spices and a natural casing.
"Farmland recognizes that health-conscious consumers look for natural or organic products," said Ken Williams, director of brand product for retail and food service. "This smoked sausage answers that demand, because the all natural label carries the assurance that Farmland producers followed strict production practices."
