OAKLAND, CALIF. — Haagen-Dazs has introduced a new flavor to its Reserve Series — Fleur de Sel Caramel ice cream. The new flavor combines sweet and salty tastes in one ice cream.
"Fleur de sel" are sea salt crystals from the marshes of Brittany in the northwest coast of France. The new flavor joins other flavors in the Haagen-Dazs Reserve Series, which originally was launched in 2007 with super premium all-natural flavors inspired from locations throughout the world.
The existing flavors include Hawaiian Lehua Honey with Sweet Cream, Pomegranate Chip, Amazon Valley Chocolate, Brazilian Acai Berry Sorbet, Toasted Coconut Sesame Brittle and Pomegranate Dark Chocolate Bar. When the line was launched it was only available in select markets in limited quantities, but it is now available nationwide in supermarkets for a suggested retail price of $4.99 for a pint.
