DOVER, DEL. — Kraft Foods Inc. announced it will expand its plant in Dover by the end of the year, a move that is expected to add 40 jobs at the facility, which currently employs 500. The Dover facility manufactures various food and beverage products such as Stove Top stuffing mix, Jell-O desserts, Dream Whip whipped topping mix, and Kool-Aid, Country Time and Crystal Light soft drink mixes.

According to Kraft, the expansion plans would include a multi-million dollar capital investment for the acquisition of new manufacturing and packaging equipment to expand the production of Kool-Aid Singles, the company’s single-serve powdered beverages.

The Delaware Economic Development Office has awarded Kraft Foods a grant of $708,000 to help offset the capital expenditures for the expansion.
