LOVELAND, COLO. ― Meyer Natural Angus has agreed to purchase the natural and organic business of Coleman Natural Foods L.L.C. Both companies expect to conclude the transaction on June 1.
The sale will allow each company to tighten its focus on strategic goals. It will allow Coleman Natural Foods to focus on growing its other businesses, including natural poultry, pork and prepared foods. Meanwhile, adding the Coleman Natural beef business will enable Meyer Natural Angus to expand its position in the growing market for natural beef.
"This agreement is a sign of our strong commitment to the natural beef industry," said Al Byers, president of Meyer Natural Angus. "With the addition of the Coleman Natural beef business, we will expand our market presence, associate with a brand that has been an innovator in natural beef and be in a position to provide superior service to the many customers of the Coleman Natural and Meyer Natural Angus brands."
Coleman Natural beef suppliers and customers may expect a seamless transition, Meyer officials said.
"We're committed to delivering great service during and after the ownership transition," Mr. Byers said. "For customers and cattle suppliers, it's business as usual."
