AAK opens production line for specialty fats

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — AAK on Sept. 24 opened a new production line in Karlshamn, Sweden, that will be used to make specialty fats for infant formula.

"This 30 million Swedish kroner ($4.6 million) investment is an important step of our growth strategy," said Jerker Hartwall, president and chief executive officer of AAK. "The new investment will give us a leading position in specialty fats for infant nutrition and provide a platform for further growth in this segment. Sales are increasing rapidly and we are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of this project."
