Mars Botanical names Wagner g.m., c.t.o.

ROCKVILLE, MD. — Mars Botanical, a division of Mars, Inc., has named Mary Wagner general manager and chief technology officer. She will be responsible for the management of Mars Botanical’s business, including the development of a sustainable supply chain for high cocoa flavanol cocoa beans and oversight of some of Mars’ global cocoa flavanol research and development.

Ms. Wagner was most recently chief technology and quality officer for E.&J. Gallo Winery, Modesto, Calif., and has more than 25 years experience in the field of food industry research and development.

"Mary is a well-respected leader in the industry," said Richard Ware, corporate vice-president of technology for Mars. "Her broad-based experience, including leadership stints with the Institute of Food Technologists and the National Wine and Grape Initiative, will add significant depth to the work being done by Mars Incorporated on behalf of consumers."
