Balchem completes bakery innovation center

NEW HAMPTON, N.Y. — Balchem Corp. announced it has completed a new bakery innovation center at its applications laboratory.
"The new bakery innovation center demonstrates Balchem’s commitment to offer our customers first class technical support, as well as cutting-edge solutions for the bakery industry," said Eric Smith, vice-president of sales and marketing. "Our food scientists can now accelerate our customers’ product development and problem solving processes."
Balchem said the innovation center will provide opportunities for the company to leverage its proprietary Bakeshure technology, which controls release and reaction of active ingredients through micro-encapsulation. Customers also may take part in bench-top working sessions directly with Balchem scientists to better understand how encapsulated products may improve formulations and how fortification of baked foods may be achieved with a "drop-in" ingredient.
