CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell Soup Co. has completed the sale of its Generale Condimentaire (GECO) business to Lesieur. Financial terms of the transaction, which was first announced on July 31, were not disclosed.
Lesieur is a company indirectly held by Sofiproteol, the financial arm of the French oilseed producers. Campbell’s Generale Condimentaire business has sauces and mayonnaise products sold under the Lesieur brand in France, and has annual sales of about $70 million.
Campbell said it will focus its business in France on driving growth in the simple meals category through its Liebig and Royco soup brands.
