OMAHA — ConAgra Foods, Inc. announced the Healthy Choice Café Steamers line was named the "best selling new food or beverage product through mid-year 2008" by Chicago-based research firm Information Resources, Inc.
"At ConAgra Foods, our consumer portfolio consists of some great brands and products that consumers love," said Gary Rodkin, chief executive officer. "Healthy Choice Café Steamers certainly fits that bill. Consumers today are looking for healthy food that tastes great, is easy and convenient to prepare, and is a good value for their hard-earned dollar. Our Healthy Choice Café Steamers line — including our newly launched Asian-Inspired Steamers — is a great example."
The I.R.I. award is based on all new food and beverage products introduced between February 2007 and July 2007. The products must achieve and maintain certain standards for distribution and earn a minimum of $7.5 million in net sales at the end of their first year on the market.
Overall, the microwavable meal line ranks in the top 2% of all successful product introductions during the past five years, according to I.R.I.
