Urbanski honored for confectionery technology work

LITITZ, PA. — The American Association of Candy Technologists earlier this week awarded John Urbanski of Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate with the Stroud Jordan Award. The award is named for the late Dr. Stroud Jordan, a pioneer candy technologist.

Mr. Urbanski, who is vice-president of technical sales and services at Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, was recognized for his contributions to the field of confectionery technology. A 44-year veteran of the confectionery industry, Mr. Urbanski started his career in 1964 and began working for Cargill in 1978.

"Mr. Urbanski’s career has been marked by continuous contributions to the confectionery industry above and beyond his efforts on behalf of his company," said Patrick Huffman, Stroud Jordan chairman. "That is the basis of his selection for this prestigious award."
