MARKOVCI, SLOVENIA — Vitiva has developed AquaRox 80, a concentrated, water-soluble rosemary extract for food, dietary supplements and beverage applications. The extract contains a minimum of 80% rosmarinic acid, which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities and may help to prevent cell damage caused by free radicals, thereby reducing the risk of cancer and atherosclerosis, according to Markovci-based Vitiva.
"We launched AquaRox three years ago, but the new AquaRox 80 represents the next generation for water soluble rosemary extracts," said Ohad Cohen, chief executive officer for Vitiva. "The new AquaRox 80 is more potent. It doesn’t affect organoleptic characteristics such as color and taste. It is highly soluble in water and in water in oil emulsions and is ideal for functional beverages."
The new extract also is free of allergens and blends with powder ingredients. It may be applied to tablets, soft-gel, clear liquid applications and a variety of food applications.
