OMAHA — New Controlled Moisture (CM) Seasoned Vegetables under the Gilroy Foods & Flavors ingredient brand are available in an array of ethnic flavors and replicate popular preparation methods like roasting and caramelizing, according to Omaha-based ConAgra Foods, Inc. It takes 33% less CM Seasoned Vegetables to deliver one nutritional serving when compared to fresh or individually quick frozen vegetables, according to ConAgra Foods.
A proprietary controlled-moisture process reduces the amount of water in vegetables, delivering finished products with flavor, color and nutrition. CM Seasoned Vegetables may be used in such applications as frozen pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, eggs, other breakfast products, handheld items, sauces and soups.
The CM Seasoned Vegetables line offers six flavor options: ancho mesquite peppers and onions, caramelized onions, sauteed onions, Italian-marinated tomatoes, chiplote-seasoned fire-roasted red bell peppers, and fajita-seasoned peppers and onions.
