Blended same-store sales up 1% at CKE

CARPINTERIA, CALIF. — For the four weeks ended Nov. 3, CKE Restaurants, Inc. posted a blended same-stores sales increase of 1%. For the year-to-date, blended same-stores sales were up 2%.
"Despite a very challenging economic environment and continued deep discounting by competitors, we are pleased to report positive blended same-stores sales … On a two-year cumulative basis, period 10 blended same-stores sales increased 3.8%, third-quarter blended same-store sales increased 2.6% and year-to-date sales have increased 3.7%. As of the end of period 10, our blended average unit volume for our company-owned stores was $1,221,000, a $59,000 increase from the end of fiscal 2008."
Same-store sales were flat in the period, and Hardee’s same-stores sales increased 2.1% for the four weeks. For the year-to-date, Carl’s Jr. has a same-store sales increase of 2.9%, and Hardee’s had a same-store sales increase of 1.1%.
