Bruegger's sees higher third-quarter sales

BURLINGTON, VA. — Bruegger’s Enterprises, Inc. said third-quarter system-wide sales were $45.13 million, up nearly 9% from the same period a year ago. Revenue for comparable sales grew 1.7% at company locations and 1.7% system-wide for the third quarter ended Oct. 30.

Commenting on the third quarter, Bruegger’s said it introduced several new menu items, including the Farmer’s Omelet, and stepped up promotions on other items, such as the Q2, the Brrrueggaccino frozen beverage and the Turkey Apple Club Salad.

Also during the third quarter, Bruegger’s opened corporate bakeries in Darien, Conn., and Philadelphia, as well as franchise-operated bakeries in Boca Raton, Fla., and Las Vegas. The company now operates 283 bakeries in 23 states and the District of Columbia.
