WILMINGTON, MASS. — The web site USFoodSafety.com has been launched by U.S. Food Safety Corp. and is intended to be a timely source of food safety information for consumers. Through the web site, registered members may receive food safety alerts, information about recalls and advice on a variety of food safety issues.
"Consumers have to become their own food safety advocates by actively searching for recalls and alerts," said Susan Reef, chief executive officer of USFoodSafety.com.
Information currently posted on the web site includes the latest recall alerts, a primer about how food products are inspected and regulated by the federal government, and stories about holiday food safety tips, keeping food safe during emergencies and how consumers may protect themselves from listeriosis.
