DIEMEN, THE NETHERLANDS — CSM n.v. on Friday announced it will consolidate its bakery operations in Germany and France, a move the company said fits into its 3-S efficiency improvement program and further strengthens the company’s European-wide bakery organization.
In Germany, CSM said it will combine its artisan support staff currently based in Bremen with the Bingen-based support staff in Bingen.
"A key benefit of this move will be cooperation with the Innovation Center for Bakery Ingredients at Bingen," CSM said. "In addition, a dedicated sales force will be developed for the artisan frozen product market to take advantage of growth opportunities in this market."
CSM said it expects to complete the consolidation in Germany by the end of this year.
In France, CSM said it will discontinue production at its Creil-based facility, transferring production to other CSM locations in France and Germany. The company has signed a letter of intent with a third party to take over the Creil facility and its work force.
