OAKDALE, CALIF. — Sconza Candy Co. has completed the renovation of the former Hershey plant in Oakdale.

Sconza bought the facility at the beginning of May and completed a more than six month renovation. The company began operations at the new location on Nov. 17.

"After extensive renovation, the company is poised to support growth and expand its manufacturing capabilities," said Jim Sconza, chief executive officer. "This move will enable us to continue the tradition of quality that my father established 69 years ago."

The facility is on about 70 acres of land and has more than 300,000 square feet. This will allow Sconza Candy to consolidate operations under one roof and expand confectionery capabilities.
