PHOENIX — NutraCea has signed an agreement with Farmer’s Rice Cooperative of Sacramento, Calif., through which NutraCea will begin to directly serve 27 customers, many of them large food companies, including two Fortune 100 companies, effective immediately. According to NutraCea, all of the new customers previously were supplied with its proprietary stabilized rice bran from the cooperative, but the earlier agreement limited the amount of rice bran the customers could receive.

"We are pleased to report that we are now able to directly supply and service these large food companies without any limitations," said Kody Newland, senior vice-president of sales of NutraCea. "As result of our having direct access to these customers, we expect to significantly increase our sales in 2009 to them."
