CAMDEN, N.J. — Peter Foyston has joined the Campbell Soup Co. as general manager of Greater China. He will be responsible for building Campbell’s business in the region and will oversee operations in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Prior to joining Campbell, Mr. Foyston was vice-president and general manager for Asia at Chiquita Brands International. Earlier, he spent 15 years with Procter & Gamble Co. in China, where he was acting general manager for Greater China with responsibility for the company’s baby care products.

In the past several years, Campbell has made strides in growing its business in China, which is the world’s largest soup market by consumption. The company’s Swanson broth brand was launched in the Guangdong province in October 2007 and expanded to the Shanghai market in November 2008.
