Individual desserts for food service

CHICAGO — Sara Lee Foodservice, a division of Sara Lee Corp., has introduced Bistro Collection Individual Desserts, a new line of desserts that allow food service operators to meet consumer demand for upscale desserts in smaller portion sizes. The new line is available in six thaw-and-serve varieties, including hot fudge chocolate cake, carrot filled cake, classic cheesecake, key lime cream pie, chocolate peanut butter cream pie and pineapple upside down cake.

Bite size desserts were a key trend identified by the National Restaurant Association’s "What’s Hot, What’s Not" survey of professional chefs, according to Sara Lee Foodservice. Each Bistro Collection Individual Dessert comes proportioned in sizes ranging from 2.5 oz to 3 oz, approximately three to four bites.
