Pepsi adds three products to beverage portfolio

PURCHASE, N.Y. — PepsiCo, Inc. has added three new products sweetened with sugar to its beverage lineup. The products, Pepsi Natural, Pepsi Throwback and Moutain Dew Throwback, will start appearing on supermarket shelves this month and in April.

"We’re complementing and reinforcing our core soft drink offerings with a hat trick of innovative products," said Frank Cooper, vice-president of portfolio brands, Pepsi-Cola North America Beverages. "Pepsi Natural and the Throwback duo give consumers the opportunity to refresh how they experience soft drinks — from a premium, all-natural beverage to a fun, retro twist on two of our most popular brands. We’re continuing to offer a variety of products across different beverage categories, with a splash of nostalgia and entirely new experiences."

Pepsi Natural will be marketed as a "premium cola," according to the company, and available in single-serve and four-pack formats. The beverage will consist of natural ingredients, including caramel and apple extract to give its color. It will be marketed in the premium or natural food aisles of supermarkets in Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas and New York.

The Throwback products will only be available for a limited time, but also be sweetened with natural sugar and packaged in what the company describes as a "retro-look package." Both products will be available beginning April 20.
