HORSHOLM, DENMARK — Chr. Hansen has added Organic ColorFruit Carrot Juice to its ColorFruit family of transparent colors extracted from edible fruits and vegetables. The new color is based on purple carrot and certified by Quality Assurance International. It yields natural, stable and vivid red/violet shades in acidic pH application, according to Chr. Hansen.
"Food and beverage manufacturers can use Organic ColorFruit Carrot Juice in their low pH organic-certified products like fruit-flavored beverages, carbonated soft drinks, lower pH confectionery products like gummy bears and fruit-flavored chewy candy, fruit preparations and frozen novelty items," said Tim Effertz, senior product manager for Chr. Hansen’s color division. "Chr. Hansen developed Organic ColorFruit Carrot Juice to yield a bright, stable and consistent color hue, all while meeting U.S. National Organic Program requirements."
