SEATTLE — Dennis Guhlke has been named president and chief executive officer of Icicle Seafoods, Inc. effective July 1.

Mr. Guhlke is replacing Don Giles, who is retiring at the end of June. However, Mr. Giles will serve as an advisor for the next three years on various projects.

"This is an important milestone in the history of Icicle," said Mitchell Presser, a member of the board of directors. "Don’s 36-year history is a direct result of his strong passion and loyalty to Icicle Seafoods . . . Having served the company in a number of roles for over 16 years, Dennis will lead Icicle into the next phase of growth and success. We look forward to working with Dennis to build on Icicle’s strong momentum. In the past year Icicle has acquired Smoki Foods and the processing vessel, Stellar Sea, and has benefited significantly from increasing global demand for its products."

In addition, Brenda Morris has been named chief financial officer, which is the role Mr. Guhlke held previously.
