NORTH BERGEN, N.J. — Frutarom USA will introduce a new line of marine extracts at SupplySide East April 27-29 in Seacaucus, N.J. Three new marine ingredients include Phoscalim, a fish-derived source of calcium, Nutripeptin, a marine peptide shown to reduce the glycemic effect of food, and Collactive, a marine source of collagen and elastin that provides "beauty from within."
"These research-supported sea ingredients offer optimum solutions to many of the top health issues our nation is facing," said Laurent Leduc, vice-president, USA Health Division for North Bergen-based Frutarom USA.
Frutarom’s business relationship in North America with Copalis, Le Portel, France, created the new line of marine extracts. Copalis manufactures marine bioactive solutions for functional food, dietary supplement and nutricosmetic markets.
Frutarom USA will feature Collactive, a natural anti-wrinkle ingredient, in a beverage at its booth No. 1439 at SupplySide East.
"Frutarom just released promising results from a clinical study showing that Collactive can significantly reduce wrinkles in women after 28 days," Mr. Leduc said.
Nutripeptin may be incorporated into powdered beverages and nutrition bars and may be used in capsule or tablet form. It has a neutral flavor profile when added to products. Nutripeptin may lower the glycemic impact of high-carbohydrate foods and help increase satiety.
Phoscalim is a bioavailable source of calcium that may promote bone health. It may work in calcium supplements or formulations that target bone and joint health.
