Cardwell to c.e.o. at Boston Market

GOLDEN, COLO. — F. Lane Cardwell Jr. has joined Boston Market Corp. as chief executive officer, effective immediately. He succeeds Rick Arras, who has left the company to pursue other interests.

A veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Mr. Caldwell most recently was an adviser to Famous Dave’s of America, Taco Bueno, Fishbowl Marketing, Order Corner and P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Inc. He was the latter’s president and chief executive officer on an interim basis between September 2007 until April 2008.

Earlier, he was president of Eatzi’s Market and Bakery from June 1996 to June 1999. Prior to joining Eatzi’s in 1996, Mr. Cardwell was executive vice-president, chief administrative officer and a member of the board of directors of Brinker International, Inc.

Boston Market operates 530 restaurants in 28 states.
