Groom to media, marketing role at ConAgra

OMAHA — Brett Groom has joined ConAgra Foods, Inc. in the newly created position of vice-president of media, digital and social marketing for the company’s Consumer Foods brands. Mr. Groom will be responsible for integrating and coordinating traditional, new and emerging media channels to reach consumers as well as implementing new strategies.
"The combination of traditional media channels, the rapidly changing digital landscape, and the increasingly important element of on-line conversations and social networking are more interconnected and more relevant for ConAgra Foods than ever before," said Joan Chow, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer.
Prior to joining ConAgra, Mr. Groom was chief digital officer at W.B. Doner Advertising, where he led media and message integration across channels for many clients, including Bush’s Beans and Minute Maid. Earlier, he was vice-president of global client services for Team Microsoft while at Young & Rubicam Brands. He also worked in a variety of executive level and manager positions with Agency.com, Sears Roebuck & Co., and Leo Burnett.
He received a bachelor’s degree in international politics from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in business administration from the J.L. Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
