OMAHA — Through its Marie Callender’s brand, ConAgra Foods, Inc. is introducing a line of Italian frozen entrees called Pasta al Dente.
The new line comes in six varieties: Rigatoni Marinara Classico, Tortellini Romano, Penne Chicken Modesto, Cavatappi Genovese with Chicken, Fettuccini Chicken Balsamico, and Rigatoni con Pesce with Shrimp.
"The introduction of the Marie Callender’s Pasta al Dente line is a welcome addition for consumers," said Rob McCutcheon, vice-president and general manager for Marie Callender’s. "People are amazed when they taste the new Pasta al Dente line because it shatters their expectations of frozen meals by delivering an authentic Italian dining experience with fresh-tasting vegetables, meats, and Italian herbs and pasta steamed to perfection at a great value."
Four additional flavors will be introduced later in the year, including Penne Chicken Piccata, Cavatalli Chicken Carbonara, Orecchiette Chicken Pesto and Old World Rigatoni Bolognese.
The meals are available at grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.49 for a 10-to-11-oz meal.
