GLENDALE, CALIF. — Nestle Professional is introducing Nutritional Compass labeling, a system that provides guidance and nutrition tips and benefits on the package of products.
"Nutritional labeling has become one of the most complex and contested issues in our industry," said Karla Bendel, director of corporate marketing and integrated services. "Nestle is taking the lead in creating a whole new standard for labeling that puts the operator in the driver’s seat when it comes to nutritional information, health claims and best practices regarding wellness menuing and marketing."
The new system displays information in various categories, including the following: Nutrition information with the U.S. Nutrition Facts Panel; professional advice; nutritional benefits such as how calorie count and specific nutrients or claims support the dietary needs of the consumers; and contact information for resources at Nestle Professional.
