OMAHA — ConAgra Foods, Inc. said it will invest up to $92 million in its Russellville, Ark., manufacturing plant to install new equipment for more efficient production of Marie Callender’s, Healthy Choice and Banquet frozen meals.
According to ConAgra, the new production line will replace an existing line and will allow the company to manufacture frozen meals such as Healthy Choice Café Steamers and Marie Callender’s Pasta Al Dente selections that use ConAgra’s proprietary tray-in-tray cooking technology.
The investment is expected to add up to 75 jobs at the plant, which currently employs 1,300.
"We are pleased with what this investment means for the plant and community," said Mike Tracy, vice-president of operations, ConAgra Foods. "This type of commitment shows that the company believes strongly in the capabilities of the people who work here, and is focused on making this plant the best it can be."
The project is expected to be complete by spring 2010.
