AVON, N.Y. — Kraft Foods Inc. has received state funding in the form of two $125,000 grants from Empire State Development (E.S.D.) and the Division of Housing and Community Renewal (D.H.C.R.) to install a new Lunchables lunch combinations production line at its facility in Avon.

"We are excited to partner with the state of New York, Empire State Development, Division of Housing and Community Renewal, and the Village of Avon on this addition to our facility," said Gregg Manning, plant manager at Avon. "This will increase our production capability by one-third, and create approximately 50 new jobs."

The line is expected to be operational later this year, and will raise total employment at the facility to more than 400.

In addition to Lunchables, the facility makes Cool Whip whipped topping.
